Tamil Nadu officials fail to full fill the promises: People engage in hunger strike at detention camp

Three months before officials of the Tamil Nadu government promised to release 15 individuals by 15th of June from the Chenkalpattu special detention center and also said every three months 5 individuals would be released from the special detention center.
Due to this 15 members engaged continues hunger strike for 13 days stopped their strike on 29th of April.
However since the 14th of June officials fail to take necessary steps this regard. Due to this once again 6 members begun their hunger strike from 15th June.
They also hand over special petition towards high ranking officials this regard.

According to the sources three individuals engage in the hunger strike are patients and also visits hospital for treatment.
6 individuals decided not receive money donated by the government for food facility.
Foreigners who doesn’t own proper documents or maintaining relationship with banned organizations would be sent to the special detention camp by the Q- division of Tamil Nadu police. There are two special detention centers in Tamil Nadu.
32 individuals were detained in Chenkalpattu special detention center. Among them 29 individuals arrived to Tamil Nadu in 2009. All these individuals arrive to Tamil Nadu to protect themselves from the genocide attack in their motherland. Other three individuals are Nigerian nationals.
Among the 29 Lankan Tamils 8 were released by the courts. Case has been filed against other 21 individuals but however they were not taken to the court hearings.
By engaging in the hunger strike these individuals requested officials to full fill their promise which they made earlier.
They finally said they won’t stop their request made by the world Tamil people, media organizations in Tamil Nadu and various human rights organizations in the world.
