20th UNRC session commenced yesterday! Navi Pillay fails to comment on Lankan issue

20th session of UN Human Rights Council commence at Geneva yesterday.

This session was headed by the UN Human Rights Commissioner Navanitham Pillay and representatives from various nations were also present at this event.

During the time of welcome speech UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay fail to make statement on Lankan issue. She clearly mentioned about the human rights problems of Syrian and other nations of the UN Human Rights Council.

Commissioner also thanked United Nation for appointing her has the UNHRC commissioner for second time and also promised to work hard to protect human rights in this world.

She also went on to say she always ready to raise voice on human rights violations and thanked the officials for supporting this regard.

20th session of UN Human Rights Council schedule to end on 6th of July. During the time of session special discussions would hold on resolutions against some countries. It was revealed none of the resolution and decision would take against SriLanka at this session.

Mahinda Samarasinghe the Minister of Plantation and the special representative of President Mahinda Rajapaksa will not take part in the 20th session of UN Human Rights Council.

Group of High Ranking Lankan officials will take part in this session. Especially advisor of the Minister Samarasinghe is also representating in this session. Commenting on the 20th session of UN Human Rights Council secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs Karunathilaka Amunugama stated they are ready to face all the problems raised against SriLanka at the session.
