2 Lead Sambanthan urge president to appoint Tamil government agents
Tamil National Alliance parliamentary group leader R.Sambanthan requested president to appoint Tamil government agents for Ampara and Trincomalee districts.
Sambanthan met the president at Temple Trees this morning according to the invitation made by the presidential office last night. Ministers Maithripala Sirisena and G.L.Peries were also present at the discussion.
During the time of discussion president stated he was ready to work has the opposition party in the eastern province however we have already make final decision this regard. President congratulated TNA leader for obtaining number of second highest votes in the province.
Replying to this Sambanthan went on to say if the government hold free and fair election in the province TNA would obtain highest number of votes in the province.
Sambanthan also point out TNA eastern provincial council candidates continuously stress to support the government. TNA leader stress the president to appoint civil officer has the governor of the North and East provinces urge to complete resettlement activities in the Samboor and Waligamam areas.
Replying to these requests president urge the TNA members to representate the parliamentary select committee which would help to solve problems of Tamil people.
Sambanthan said Tamil National Alliance will never representate the parliamentary select committee and urge full fill the promises made by the government in previous occasions.
