The Department of Immigration & Emigration has taken steps to notify Interpol regarding lost or stolen passports.
Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo Today Immigration & Emigration Chief Chulananda Perera noted that this course of action would mitigate the use counterfeit documentation.
Director urge the victims to lodged a complaint at the near by police station on their misplaced documents.
Telephone complaints could me make on the working days from 8.30 am -4.30 pm towards 011 532 9501.
According to Chulalalanda Perera the new course of action would be implemented from the 1st of August.
