Pakistan High Commissioner attack suspects indicted

Three men were indicted before the Colombo High Court for attempting on the life of Pakistan High Commissioner and committing the death of seven others at Colpetty on 2006.
Senior State Counsel Riaz Bary appearing for the Attorney General served the indictments on the accused Yogarajah Nirodhan alias Star, Subramanium Subendraraja alias Karan and Kanagaratnam Aditian alias Giri alias Ranjan on 25 counts.
The accused were committed for conspiring, aiding and abetting with each other alone with the attacker Anton to kill the Pakistan High Commissioner Basheer Ali Mohamed and for killing 4 military personals and 4 civilians on August 14, 2006 at Colpetty Colombo.
Norway has asked Sri Lanka to comply with �well established international rules on diplomatic immunity� after a Colombo Court ruled that the former Norwegian Ambassador and three officials did not have immunity in a huge transaction involving an NGO. [More]
