According to the deputy minister at present we are carrying out last stage of resettlement activities but due to various reasons such delay of land mine evacuation and also some lands had been taken by the Army to construct camps in this area due to this we need some more time to select better place to resettle people.
Minister Muralitharan also point out there are many land mines in the Mullaitivu district. Most of these land mined were used during the last stage of war. However at present we have taken necessary steps to evacuate land mines from this area and as soon as possible we hope to resettle people in this area. |
