For the past ten years people stage various protests on urging to grant justice for thousands of people abducted by the Lankan intelligence unit during the time of Mulliwaikal war and release of political prisoners in the country.
Lankan government fails to solve their problems. In the recent past Tamil political prisoners detained at the prison were brutally attacked and killed silently in the prison compound.
In such situation several democratic protests stage all around the country. Hundreds of people were present at the special pooja organised by the Tamil National Alliance and urge god to grant justice for their families. They also dashed 1008 coconuts in front of the Kovil.
Political parties representate the Tamil National Alliance, former parliamentarians, Democratic People Front and the members of some Sinhala political parties from the south were also present at this special pooja.
