The minister was speaking to the media today (Sept. 17) after Malaka and six others were remanded by courts over the assault of an Army major at JAIC Hilton Hotel in Colombo around a week ago.
He said he was grieved to see his son remanded, but said he would bow to the judicial decision, which established the fallacy of rumours the government was going to absolve Malaka.
Meanwhile, at a media briefing, Senior DIG western province Anura Senanayake said the delay in the arrest of the minister’s son was due to investigations being conducted into the incident. |
