Former Eastern Province Chief Minister and leader of the TMVP Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan has been appointed as a Presidential Advisor, informed sources said.
Chandirakanthan received the highest number of preferential votes from the UPFA at the recently concluded Eastern Provincial Council elections.
Earlier it was revealed Pillaiyan would be appointed as the Minister of the Eastern province. However at present he appointed has the presidential advisor which does not own powers.
