Addressing an election meeting at Ratnapura opposition leader Ranil Wickramasinghe went on to say,
Once we protect the judiciary system we need to loss our position. What would happen to out judiciary system if we all were interested on protecting our own positions in the country. Present threats and pressures made against the judiciary system of this country. what happened in Mannar?.
It was blamed minister of the Mannar area has made threats against Mannar magistrate on issuing judgment against his activities.
However magistrate refused to bow his head towards these kinds of threats due to this supports of the minister attacked the Mannar court premises. Later on they filed a complaint against the magistrate at the Judiciary commission and urge to transfer the magistrate from the area.
President announced he was disappointed on involvement of government Minister in the attack of Mannar court premises.
Evident have clearly proved this minister was allegedly involved in the Mannar court attack.
