End of 1981 census last year government carried out their census activity in year 2012. According to the census report population of Tamil people decreased by 3 percent.
But however Muslim population increased by 6% in the country.
Sinhala community population calculated as 74.6%, Tamil population 11.2% ,Muslim community population increased by 9.3% and Indian Tamil community population increased by 4%.
