Navy intercepts another boatload of asylum seekers

Sri Lanka Navy today intercepted another multi-day fishing trawler, with 41 passengers onboard, off the coast of Trincomalee attempting to illegally travel towards Australia.
The arrested asylum seekers included 5 females, 4 children and an infant, Navy Spokesman stated.
The apprehended suspects and vessel have been escorted to Trincomalee harbor while inquiries are ongoing, he added.
