A complaint was filed by the head of the Weerawansa’s security detail, Susira Kumara with the Cinnamon Gardens Police, regarding several threatening telephone calls received by the Minister.
The Cinnamon Gardens Police informed the Colombo Magistrate Rashmi Singhapulli that an extensive investigation is ongoing and that they are looking into two specific phone numbers, from which the calls had been made.
Police also said that they are to record a statement from Minister Wimal Weerawansa regarding the threats. |
