A person was stabbed to death with a sharp object on the main road in front of the Eheliyagoda Central College. The deceased is said to be a 19-year-old resident of Thalagahamula, Eheliyagoda.
A suspect has been arrested over the murder and is to be produced before the Avissawella Magistrate’s Court today, police said.
A dispute over the victim attempting to start a romantic relationship with the suspect’s daughter had reportedly led to the stabbing.
