No foreign election monitors: Election commissioner

Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya announced foreign election monitors would not deploy for the election monitoring activities of the upcoming provincial council election.
Commissioner made this announcement during a meeting with secretaries of political parties on Friday.
He also sated if it is necessary he will invite election monitors from the South Asian countries.
Tamil National Alliance and the United National Party urge to appoint foreign election monitors in the country.
