Twenty eight thousand persons with warrants against them were arrested during July in search operations carried out throughout the country on the instructions of the IGP, the police said.
This seacrch operation carried out from 1st of July to 31st of July.
Of them 7103 persons have been arrested from the Western province. Search operations to arrest persons who were issued with warrants are still carried out throughout the island.
