Southern bus operators attacked Northern youth

Conductor and the bus driver from the southern province has allegedly carried out attack against the youth from the Northern Province and murdered the youth by pushing him away from the bus.

This incident occurred at 9.45 am last evening at the Bastian junction in the Jaffna district.

Vitim is identified has Kannan(25) resident of Solaipallawarayan Kattai Killinochchie.

According to the sources,

Four youths from the Vavuniya got in to a bus travelling towards Colombo. Conductor has charged extra bus fees from these youths.

When they raised question from the conductor this regard driver of the bus together with the bus conductor carried out attack against the youth and pushed him out of the bus.

However youth was injured when he caught to the wheel of the bus. Victim rushed to the Jaffna teaching hospital and later on succumbed to his injuries.

Other passengers of the bus engaged arguments with the bus conductor and driver and also taken them towards police station.

Driver of the bus and the conductor continue their communication in the Sinhala language and threaten the people passengers said.

However at present driver of the bus and the conductor are currently detained in the police custody, unconfirmed sources said.
