A new agreement is maintained secretively, to curtail human smuggling incidents from Sri Lanka including countries to Australia. The agreement was done between the Indonesian President Yothoyona and the Sri Lankan government. |
| Journalists queried from Australian External Affairs Minister Stephan Smith, whether this agreement should be revealed to the people. While giving his opinion, he said, if this agreement is published, it would be favorable to the human smugglers, hence by maintaining it secretively, the human smuggling incidents could be curtailed was mentioned by him. |
